The Panther Group is seeking an experienced Associate Benefits Administrator to support a prestigious university in Boston, MA. This is an excellent opportunity for a benefits professional who enjoys providing outstanding customer service, managing benefit administration processes, and working in a collaborative HR environment.

This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of two days per week onsite in Boston.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Benefits Manager, the Associate Benefits Administrator serves as a primary point of contact for employees regarding benefit programs, including tuition remission, health and welfare benefits, payroll deductions, and employee communications.

We're looking for a seasoned benefits professional who can quickly step into the role with minimal training. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, highly organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee benefits inquiries via phone, email, CRM system, and in person.
  • Administer the tuition remission/waiver program, including reviewing eligibility, processing requests, and coordinating with internal departments.
  • Process benefit invoices and monthly premium payments accurately and on time.
  • Verify and process benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, payroll deductions, and employee benefit changes.
  • Conduct routine audits, including unpaid leave tracking, evidence of insurability, and benefits eligibility reviews.
  • Track benefits for employees on unpaid leaves and long-term disability while coordinating with third-party vendors.
  • Process tuition waivers and provide guidance regarding program eligibility and policies.
  • Prepare employee communications and correspondence related to benefit programs.
  • Assist with benefits events, including Open Enrollment, employee orientations, wellness initiatives, and Benefits Fair activities.
  • Generate reports, perform audits, and help maintain the integrity of benefits data.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and leverage technology to streamline benefits administration.
  • Partner with internal teams and external vendors to resolve benefits-related issues.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 1–3+ years of Human Resources, Benefits Administration, or related experience.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to explain complex benefit information clearly and professionally.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel skills.
  • Experience using HRIS systems (Workday experience is a plus).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Experience processing benefits invoices, audits, payroll deductions, or employee benefits is highly preferred.
