(QPWB), a multi-office national defense firm and the largest minority owned law firm in the United States, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our Tallahassee office. This is a full-time, in-office position offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

    About the Role

    We are seeking an Associate Attorney with 2+ years of civil litigation or insurance defense experience to join our growing Tallahassee office. The ideal candidate will have a strong litigation foundation, excellent research and writing skills, and the ability to effectively manage cases in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

    This position offers the opportunity to handle a diverse caseload, gain meaningful litigation experience, and work alongside experienced attorneys representing a variety of clients.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    • Manage an active caseload through all phases of litigation
    • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, legal memoranda, and other litigation-related documents
    • Conduct legal research and assist in developing case strategy
    • Handle written discovery and participate in fact and expert discovery
    • Take and defend depositions
    • Attend hearings, mediations, case management conferences, and other court proceedings
    • Assist with and participate in trial preparation
    • Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other parties
    • Maintain compliance with court deadlines and client reporting requirements
    • Collaborate with attorneys and staff to ensure effective and efficient case management

    Qualifications

    • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
    • Active member in good standing with the Florida Bar
    • 2+ years of civil litigation or insurance defense experience
    • Experience handling insurance defense matters preferred
    • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
    • Experience with discovery, depositions, hearings, and motion practice preferred
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
    • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment
    • Strong commitment to client service and collaborative teamwork
