Associate Attorney Litigation

The Associate Attorney will be involved throughout the life of a matter, from evaluating prospective claims and communicating with potential clients through pre-litigation, litigation, mediation, settlement, and trial. • Communicate directly with prospective clients to understand their circumstances, evaluate potential claims, explain the legal process, and establish the attorney-client relationship.

Junior Plaintiff-Side Litigation Attorney

This is a strong opportunity for a junior attorney who is hungry for substantive responsibility and courtroom experience. The position offers exposure to the full lifecycle of plaintiff-side matters rather than limiting the Associate to research and drafting.

The practice focuses primarily on breach-of-warranty and Texas DTPA/consumer litigation. The Associate Attorney will be involved throughout the life of a matter, from evaluating prospective claims and communicating with potential clients through pre-litigation, litigation, mediation, settlement, and trial.

Approximately 50% of the role will focus on prospective client and claim evaluation, with the remaining 50% focused on managing an existing litigation docket.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate potential breach-of-warranty and Texas DTPA claims by reviewing purchase documents, repair histories, warranties, and other supporting materials.
• Communicate directly with prospective clients to understand their circumstances, evaluate potential claims, explain the legal process, and establish the attorney-client relationship.
• Manage qualified matters from initial evaluation through pre-litigation, litigation, mediation, settlement, and trial.
• Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case developments.
• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Work closely with senior attorneys on case evaluation, litigation strategy, and case development.
• Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date case files.
• Participate in regular attorney and case-strategy meetings.
• Track case activity, results, and client-service metrics.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing.
• 1–3 years of plaintiff-side legal experience preferred; candidates with less experience will also be considered.
• Litigation experience preferred.
• Strong interest in developing hands-on litigation and trial experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Personable, confident, and empathetic when working directly with clients.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate facts and supporting documentation.
• Creative and strategic approach to evaluating potential claims and developing cases.
• Comfortable working in a highly client-facing environment.
• Able to learn new technology and software quickly.
• Collaborative and comfortable working within established processes and procedures.
• Passing the Uniform Bar Examination is a plus.
