Job Details

Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of insurance defense and civil litigation matters from intake through resolution, with partner oversight
Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery
Take and defend depositions
Conduct legal research and prepare case strategy memos
Attend hearings, mediations, and (as cases progress) trial
Communicate directly with insurance carrier clients on case status and strategy
Collaborate with paralegals and senior attorneys on large-loss, document-intensive files

Qualifications:

Licensed to practice law in Texas, in good standing
3–6 years of civil litigation experience, insurance defense preferred (PI defense, coverage, subrogation, transportation, or general commercial litigation)
Demonstrated deposition and/or first-chair/second-chair trial experience preferred
Strong writing and research skills, motion practice experience a plus
Comfortable managing a caseload with some autonomy while collaborating closely with senior attorneys
