Associate Attorney

Our client that has close to three decades of experience serving the insurance industry with general litigation, insurance coverage, and workers compensation defense is seeking Associates with experience to join a growing firm with over 200 attorneys firmwide. Extensive legal research and drafting of substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.

Our client that has close to three decades of experience serving the insurance industry with general litigation, insurance coverage, and workers compensation defense is seeking Associates with experience to join a growing firm with over 200 attorneys firmwide. Successful applicants must have exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills.

Primary duties include:

• File review and legal analysis of claims and causes of action
• Extensive legal research and drafting of substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs
• Annual billable amount under 2000 hours 
• Regularly representing clients in court, at arbitrations and in depositions
• Drafting and responding to discovery requests
• Expert witness retention and collaboration
• Trial preparation and attendance
• Some travel may be required 

Requirements

• 1 - 7 years’ experience in General Liability, Insurance Coverage, or WC defense. 
• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school 
• Admitted to practice in the state, other states a plus, but not required
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
• Solid research abilities and written and oral communication skills
• Strong work ethic, ability to self-manage and work in a team environment
• Must respond promptly to e-mail and phone inquiries
• Excellent client skills and telephone manner
