Department: Burlington County Department of Solid Waste \u2013 Recycling and Clean Communities Offices\n \nLocation: Mansfield Township/Burlington County\n \nStatus: Full-Time (40 Hours/Week) \n \nWorking under the direction of the County Recycling Coordinator, the Assistant plays a vital role in planning and implementing the County's waste management initiatives. This role balances administrative data management with active community engagement, ensuring that residential, commercial, and institutional sectors remain compliant with environmental regulations while also harnessing the importance of sustainability within the county. This position requires a mix of office-based administrative work and field-based outreach. The candidate must also be comfortable with establishing and maintaining a cooperative working relationship with representatives of local government, civic associations, and others interested in or concerned with the aims, goals, and objectives of the county recycling program.\n \nResponsibilities\n\n Assist in the organization and program implementation of County recycling and waste reduction programs.\n Serve as a representative for the Recycling and Clean Communities offices; design and lead educational programs for schools, businesses, and civic groups as well as other public sectors.\n Work with constituents to evaluate and ensure adherence to local, state, and federal recycling requirements.\n Maintain accurate records, files, and reports; assist in the preparation of mandatory regulatory documentation.\n Serve as an office liaison with outside agencies, environmental organizations, and local businesses to promote sustainable waste practices.\n Maintain operational readiness by assisting with specialized projects and providing administrative support as they arise.\n \nSkills & Qualifications\n\n High level of competence in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).\n Strong public speaking skills with the ability to present to groups of various sizes.\n Proven ability to manage data with high attention to detail and accuracy.\n Capability to work autonomously, managing daily tasks and long-term projects with minimal supervision while also being capable of working collaboratively to meet the department's initiatives. \n A fundamental interest in designing and implementing programs related to recycling and sustainability.\n \nRequirements\n\n Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and one (1) year of the above-mentioned professional experience.\n \nOR \n\n Five (5) years of professional experience in solid waste or recycling management.\n Possession of a valid New Jersey driver's license\n \nBenefits\n\n Dental Insurance\n Vision Insurance\n Health Insurance\n Paid Time Off \n Retirement Plans\n \nSalary commensurate with experience. \n \nQualified, interested applicants should send resumes to: rgransden@co.burlington.nj.us\n \nRachel Gransden \n \nP.O.
