In this role, you will lead welcoming and engaging onboarding sessions and interactive team workshops while keeping behind-the-scenes logistics running like clockwork. From managing professional development funds and administering our Learning Management System to tracking compliance and coordinating training resources, we need someone who truly thrives in the details. The Organizational Effectiveness & Development Assistant Program Manager coordinates and administers College-wide employee onboarding, professional development, and training programs that support employee and organizational effectiveness. The position manages the New Employee Orientation Program, administers the staff professional development funding program, and develops and facilitates training and team development initiatives in partnership with supervisors and departments across the College. The position also supports the administration of the College's learning management system, coordinates training resources and communications, maintains OED and Human Resources web and intranet content, and provides program, reporting, and project support for Organizational Effectiveness and Development initiatives.

The work schedule for this position is flexible and may include working evenings and weekends.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures an effective onboarding experience for new employees by managing and delivering all aspects of the New Employee Orientation Program, including developing program schedules and content, facilitating virtual and in-person orientation sessions, and coordinating program logistics and communications
  • Partners with hiring managers, supervisors, and new employees across College departments to coordinate participation in New Employee Orientation, communicate program requirements and expectations, address questions and issues, and provide guidance and support throughout the orientation process
  • Provides customer service and development support for Organizational Effectiveness and Development training initiatives, including assisting with the development of training programs and materials, promoting training opportunities, developing reports, and supporting OED programs and projects
  • Coordinates logistical and technical support for OED training sessions and workshops, including preparing training spaces, coordinating materials and equipment, and providing audiovisual support
  • Leads and oversees the Staff Professional Development Working Group and administers the professional development funding program for classified and exempt employees. Coordinates the review and approval process for professional development funding requests, facilitates committee review and decision-making, communicates funding decisions to applicants, and oversees the administration and tracking of approved professional development funds
  • Partners with supervisors and department leadership to identify and address employee training needs and recommend adjustments to training programs and resources as needed. Monitors, maintains, and documents employee training completion to support College compliance requirements
  • Researches best practices and develops, implements, and evaluates professional development and training programs to support employee and organizational development. Facilitates departmental and team development sessions based on identified needs and requests, including but not limited to team effectiveness, communication, leadership development, and assessment-based programs such as Predictive Index training
  • Serves as the primary contact for Organizational Effectiveness and Development and Human Resources intranet and web content. Coordinates, maintains, and updates online information and resources, including training materials, professional development opportunities, program information, schedules, and other OED and Human Resources content to ensure employees have access to current and accurate information
  • Assists with the administration and troubleshooting of the College's Learning Management System (LMS - MyLearning/Percipio), including creating and configuring courses, managing learner information and assignments, maintaining training records, and resolving end-user system issues
  • Coordinates with external training vendors to support the delivery of professional development and training programs, including scheduling and logistics, processing training-related invoices, and assisting with the deployment and tracking of compliance-driven training modules
  • Develops ad hoc reports, programs, and other resources to support Organizational Effectiveness and Development initiatives and departmental needs. Assists the Director with special projects, emerging priorities, and other assignments requiring research, coordination, analysis, or program support
  • May supervise temporary staff by assigning work, providing guidance, and monitoring completion of assigned responsibilities
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor

Job Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Resources, Business, or a closely related field or study and
  • One to Three years of professional level program experience

or

  • An equivalent combination of certification, education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above

Preferred:

  • Three to Five years of project management and training/teaching experience
