Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Quincy, MA | Fully Onsite
Salary: $55,000–$80,000, depending on experience

Creative Financial Staffing (CFS) is partnering with an established organization in the manufacturing/distribution space to identify an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist. This position is open due to a long-term employee’s retirement and is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys AP but wants a role that goes beyond simply processing invoices.

The ideal candidate will bring strong AP fundamentals along with the ability to research discrepancies, solve problems, and communicate effectively across departments.

Accounts Payable Specialist Responsibilities

• 
  
• Manage daily AP processing in a high-volume environment, averaging approximately 20–30 invoices per day
• 
  
• Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices
• 
  
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies rather than simply escalating issues
• 
  
• Partner with Procurement to investigate pricing discrepancies and purchasing issues
• 
  
• Communicate with Warehouse personnel to resolve quantity, receiving, and inventory-related discrepancies
• 
  
• Work directly with vendors to address billing questions and outstanding issues
• 
  
• Review invoices for proper coding, documentation, and approvals
• 
  
• Assist with employee expense report processing and reconciliation
• 
  
• Maintain accurate AP records and ensure invoices are processed accurately and on time
• 
  
• Manage multiple priorities and follow outstanding issues through to resolution
• 
  

Accounts Payable Specialist Qualifications

• 
  
• 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience preferred
• 
  
• Strong understanding of AP processes, including three-way matching
• 
  
• Demonstrated ability to research discrepancies and independently solve problems
• 
  
• Experience working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
• 
  
• Strong communication skills and confidence working across departments
• 
  
• Ability to multitask and keep multiple outstanding issues organized
• 
  
• Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture
• 
  
• Manufacturing or distribution industry experience is highly preferred, but not required
• 
  
• Candidates from other industries with strong AP, analytical, and problem-solving experience are encouraged to apply
