About this Job

This position serves as the first point of contact for visitors, members and guests, providing exceptional customer service, administrative support, and ensuring smooth operations at the lobby area. The position is responsible for greeting and welcoming members and other visitors in a friendly and professional manner, answer inquiries, provide information, and direct individuals to the appropriate staff member. Also responsible for other clerical tasks such as stats recording, mailing out 1099R per members requests, beneficiary changes for active employees, monthly member calendar among other duties.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of experience in administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Greet visitors and ascertains their information needs.
  • Receive and check for accuracy all documentation delivered to LASERS in person by members, agency representatives, and other visitors.
  • Route all hand delivered documentation to the Document Management Center.
  • Provide walk-ins and appointments with a visitor information sheet and comment cards regarding service received from both the receptionist and the analyst conducting the counseling session.
  • Inform the Customer Service analyst via instant messaging, email, or telephone when walk-ins or appointments arrive.
  • Maintain records/documentation and creates statistical reports using EXCEL.
  • Process beneficiary changes for active members.
  • Process requests for copies of 1099s
  • Hand out retirement forms to walk-ins upon request.
  • Provide limited, general information to the members about retirement processing.
  • Maintain the lobby's appearance.
  • Review all incoming legal documents.

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: Probational

Work Schedule: Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday.

LASERS requires all new hires to serve a minimum of eighteen (18) months not to exceed twenty-four (24) months in probational status including permanent state employees.
