About this Job
The Office of State Parks (OSP) serves the citizens of Louisiana and visitors by preserving and interpreting natural areas of unique or exceptional scenic value, planning, developing, and operating sites that provide outdoor recreation opportunities in natural surroundings, preserving and interpreting historical and scientific sites of statewide importance, and administering intergovernmental programs related to outdoor recreation and trails.
This position is located at the State Capitol and State Parks Administrative Office in Baton Rouge, LA. The Administrative Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting daily site operations by providing reliable, high-level administrative assistance and exceptional customer service. This position serves as a key point of contact for visitors, maintains the inventory and resale of the gift shop, and helps maintain an organized, efficient work environment. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, professional, and committed to delivering responsive, high-quality support.

Location: State Parks Administrative Office, Baton Rouge, LA
Appointment Type: Job Appointment - In the event that funds become available for a permanent position, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
Career Progression: This position may be filled as an Administrative Coordinator 1, 2, 3, or 4. As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled based on the qualifications of the selected applicant. Work Schedule: The "Shop at the Top" gift shop is open 7 days/week, from 9:00 am-3:00 pm (closed for major holidays). Position will work a rotating schedule of 40 hours/week, which can include weekends as needed, to ensure coverage.
Compensation: Compensation offered will be dependent on level of experience and certification, so please be sure to include all education and work experience for consideration.
