The School District of La Crosse is accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE - 40 hours per week, 12 months per year, Administrative Assistant to the Office of Special Education in the Instructional Office located in Central High School. Projected start date: As soon as possible.

Supervisor of Special Education and Director of Student Services
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and schedule determined by negotiated agreement.
Twelve months, Pay Grade 1 through 06/30/2026, then Pay Grade 2 beginning 07/01/2026.
ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVES:
To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the department(s) assigned in order to realize the maximum positive impact on the education of children and comply with all Federal guidelines.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position provides support to the Special Education department in the district.
a. Establishing and implementing workflows to support special education program activities.
b. Prepare and distribute departmental materials.
c. Coordinate all aspects of special education transportation.
d. Support management of all special education related budgets.
e. Assist in the organization and development of events and training schedules as appropriate.
f. Communicate effectively with building special education teams.
g. Respond effectively to district parents and students.
h. Maintain up to data special education data in student information system.
i. Maintain accurate and up to date electronic special education records.
j. Support coordination of summer special education programming.
Provide support to Director of Student Services, Special Education Supervisor and Special Education Coordinators
Perform computer tasks using Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, InDesign, SEEDS Special Education programming, Skyward Education software, general office equipment, electronic communication, and website management.
Prepare all written materials with correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and according to standard business practice.
Prepare instructional materials, reports, and special projects as directed.
Create a positive public image for the office and school district through all interaction with the public and district staff.
Cross-train with the duties and responsibilities of other administrative assistants in the office of student services.
Perform other duties as assigned.
