Job Summary
Sigma, Inc. is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to support Beth Israel Lahey Health Hospital in Plymouth, MA. This is an onsite healthcare administrative opportunity for a professional with at least 2 years of administrative assistant experience, strong customer service skills, and hands-on experience using Epic in a healthcare or hospital environment.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with patients, answering high-volume telephone calls, performing patient check-in, and providing professional administrative support in a fast-paced clinical setting. Cancer center experience is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and front-desk support in a hospital or healthcare environment.
- Greet patients and provide professional, courteous customer service.
- Perform patient check-in and assist patients with registration-related needs.
- Answer and route incoming telephone calls accurately and professionally.
- Use Epic to access and document patient information and complete required administrative tasks.
- Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare staff, providers, and other departments.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Support daily administrative operations and assist with scheduling and other clerical activities as assigned.
- Handle sensitive patient information in accordance with applicable privacy and confidentiality requirements.
- Maintain a professional and organized work environment.
- Perform additional administrative duties as needed to support the healthcare team.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of Administrative Assistant experience required.
- Epic experience required.
- Previous experience in a healthcare, hospital, medical office, or clinical environment strongly preferred.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience answering and managing telephone calls.
- Experience with patient check-in and front-desk healthcare operations.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work onsite in Plymouth, MA, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a cancer center, oncology practice, or cancer care setting.
- Experience with Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) systems or workflows.
- Medical receptionist, patient access, patient registration, or hospital administrative experience.
- Experience supporting physicians, nurses, clinical teams, or patients.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and healthcare scheduling systems.
Important Eligibility Requirement
Former Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) employees must have been separated from BILH for at least 6 months and must have left in good standing to be eligible for this position.
A BILH coversheet is required at the time of candidate submission.
