Job Description
Eastern Shore Community College is a member of the Virginia Community College System. The College serves the residents of Accomack County and Northampton County as a two-year institution of higher learning. Operating under policies established by the State Board for Community Colleges and the Eastern Shore Community College Board, the college is financed primarily with state funds, supplemented by contributions from the two counties and the Eastern Shore Community College Foundation.
Position Summary:
Provides part-time administrative and functional support for Career Services Center.
Functional Responsibilities:Establishes and maintains records for Career Services Center (CSC). Tracks and reports required data in support of the Center's Work Based Learning program. Assists scheduling appointments with clients, mentors, and employers. Tracks Career Services contacts and milestones using state and local technology applications. Provides on-and-off-site support for Career Services events. Creates and maintains forms and meeting notes and provides additional support for Career Services Center.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
- Customer service and higher education experience preferred
- Self-motivated to complete assigned tasks and seek out opportunities to pursue Career Services Center growth
- Intermediate skills with PC-based software including word processing, data-bases, and spreadsheets.
- Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work to meet established deadlines while giving attention to details.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) in a professional and courteous manner.
