Provide administrative assistance, for the York County Court Self-Help & Law Resource Center, by demonstrating teamwork as well as initiative. The primary goal is to assist and support library /self-represented patrons. Assist in the daily operations of the Court Self-Help/Law Resource Center. Assist patrons in accessing research materials in print and electronic form. Provide prompt and professional service to patrons of the Court Self-Help Center/Law Resource Center/ Law Library Oversee intake of customers upon arrival & direct patrons accordingly; including but not limited to facilitating efficient sign-in procedure, procuring signature of disclaimer, & assignment of visitor to staff member Assist self-represented parties by providing information about court processes, forms, and referrals to sources of legal representation and community assistance. Keep accurate records of visitors, status of case and attorney involvement for valuable statistical information Update, catalogue, and replace all library materials as needed
Manage schedule of visitor appointments Maintain inventory of copies of forms and packets and submit request for copies when necessary Clock, sort, & process mail Other duties assigned by the Supervisor Maintain proficient knowledge of the Supervisor's duties to perform them in her absence Observing in Court, to gain knowledge of the process ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Three or more years administrative office experience, or any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience which have provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the responsibilities of the position An aptitude toward accuracy and continual attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofing materials, establishing priorities, meeting deadlines, and all other aspects of the job Ability to provide effective, precise communication skills, verbal and written, thus establishing a professional demeanor with associates of the Court, representatives of the legal profession, and members of the public General knowledge of equipment, and Microsoft Office products, including computer proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands Clear Criminal Background Investigation.
