Accounting Specialist

LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a reputable company. We are in search of an Accounting Specialist. The Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting accounts payable functions related to third-party properties and development projects, with additional exposure to accounts receivable activities. This position partners closely with operations, development, and accounting teams and plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial processing.

Job Title: Accounting Specialist

Location: Wilmington, DE (Fully Onsite)

Salary Range: $50,000 - $52,000 annually (based on experience, skills, and qualifications)

Key Responsibilities

  • Process invoices through AvidXchange for approval workflows
  • Enter and code invoices into MRI software, including job cost allocations
  • Manage monthly operating expense (OpEx) check runs in coordination with operations teams
  • Execute weekly utility and SODA check runs
  • Support residential utility tracking and reporting
  • Assist with processing incoming rent and security deposit checks, including batching and deposits
  • Prepare lien waivers for contractor invoices
  • Assist accounting team with bank reconciliations as needed
  • Complete special projects and additional accounting tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, vendors, and external partners
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance related field preferred

Experience

  • 2+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on accounts payable
  • Exposure to accounts receivable functions preferred
  • Experience working with accounting systems (MRI, AvidXchange, or similar platforms is a plus)
