The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes and ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial records. This role serves as a key liaison with external auditors and supports the preparation of audited annual financial statements. The position also manages day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close. The Accounting Manager will help strengthen internal controls, improve accounting processes, and build a scalable accounting function for a growing SaaS organization.

Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close processes.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Review the general ledger and investigate unusual transactions or variances.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and support management reports.
- Maintain schedules for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued expenses, deferred revenue, debt, equity, and other significant balance-sheet accounts.
- Ensure accounting transactions are recorded in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual financial statement audits and interim reviews.
- Prepare audit schedules, PBC ("Prepared by Client") documentation, account roll-forwards, confirmations, and supporting documentation requested by auditors.
- Research and resolve audit questions and accounting discrepancies.
- Assist with technical accounting matters, including revenue recognition and equity transactions.
- Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, documentation, and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline the month end close.
- Work closely with the CFO/Controller and other departments to ensure financial information is accurate and delivered on schedule.

- 5+ years of accounting experience.
- Previous experience working in a Software Development or SaaS company is a plus.
- Previous job experience in a corporate accounting team required.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Proficient advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP's, pivot tables, etc.) to manage large volumes of data.
- Ability to learn and utilize new systems.
- Superior interpersonal skills; excellent written & oral communication skills.
- Success working as part of a small, close-knit team where relationships, discretion and confidentiality are paramount.

- Experience supporting audits and implementing controls in a growing company. (48% growth year over year in last 5 years)

- Ability to create and lead an accounting function from scratch. (not much of an existing account department yet - Finance Manager and COO (who acts as Controller too)
