Our nonprofit client is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and support the organization's financial health and mission. Reporting to senior finance leadership, this position will take ownership of month-end close, financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, budgeting support, and staff supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  
• Lead monthly and year-end close processes
• 
  
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• 
  
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity
• 
  
• Prepare financial statements and management reports
• 
  
• Perform budget-to-actual and variance analysis
• 
  
• Support annual audits and tax filing preparation
• 
  
• Assist with cash flow forecasting and financial planning
• 
  
• Partner with program and operational leaders on financial matters
• 
  
• Supervise and mentor accounting support staff
• 
  
• Identify and implement process improvements and internal controls
• 
  

Qualifications

• 
  
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 
  
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• 
  
• Strong month-end close and general ledger accounting experience
• 
  
• Experience preparing financial statements
• 
  
• Advanced Excel skills
• 
  
• Prior supervisory experience preferred
• 
  
• Nonprofit, grant accounting, healthcare, education, association, or multi-entity accounting experience is highly desirable
• 
  
• CPA is a plus but not required
•
