We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Manager to join our growing team. You will play a critical role in our Accounting and Finance department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, with a deep understanding of nonprofit accounting principles, GAAP, and grants. You will be responsible for leading ad hoc projects, providing audit support, and managing account reconciliations. Experience with Business Central is a must, as you will be using this tool on a regular basis.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
2. Manage the accruals and prepayments process to ensure accurate financial reporting.
3. Lead ad hoc projects and provide necessary audit support.
4. Ensure compliance with all internal processes and policies as well as GAAP and applicable external laws and regulations.
5. Prepare and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
6. Collaborate with the finance team on annual budgeting and planning processes.
7. Oversee all financial, project/program, and grants accounting; ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets throughout the grant/fund period.
8. Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with the program vice presidents; continuously collaborate with program vice presidents to assess the financial efficacy of program operations and establish finance and administrative systems to support program operations.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
3. Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or equivalent.
4. Solid understanding of nonprofit accounting principles, GAAP, and grants.
5. Experience with Business Central is highly desirable.
6. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles.
7. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
8. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while achieving goals and objectives.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
10. Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills.
11. Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software, and databases.
