    Description

    We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Cleveland. This full-time role is integral to overseeing and enhancing our accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial standards, and fostering a collaborative team environment. This position offers the flexibility for occasional hybrid work following the initial onboarding period.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and mentor the accounting staff, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and accounting specialists. Conduct staff training, assess competencies, and manage performance evaluations and goal setting.
    • Oversee the accounts payable process, including reviewing and auditing expense reports for accuracy and compliance.
    • Manage the accounts receivable operations, ensuring all revenue is posted accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Prepare and oversee monthly cash flow forecasts to ensure effective financial planning and management.
    • Supervise the general ledger and fixed asset management, ensuring all accounts are reconciled according to the established schedule.
    • Manage treasury functions, including cash management, trust accounting, and bank liaison activities.
    • Enhance internal processes and controls to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the accounting function.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Finance and CFO on special projects as required.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is mandatory.
    • CPA designation is required.
    • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a legal or services firm, including at least 5 years in a managerial role.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
    • Proven skills in staff management, including delegation, instruction, and evaluation.
    • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a capability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
    • Effective communication skills with the ability to present information clearly to management.
    • Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on responding to needs, seeking feedback, and fulfilling commitments.
