Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all aspects of accounting management including billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and various special analyses.

2. Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.

3. Prepare and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; collate financial reporting materials for all donor segments, and oversee all financial, project/program and grants accounting.

4. Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors; assess any changes necessary.

5. Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls.

6. Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.

7. Implement a robust contracts management and financial management/reporting system; ensure that the contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements.

8. Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department’s overall policy and procedure manual.

9. Effectively communicate and present the critical financial matters to the CFO and top management.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or MBA preferred.

2. Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial management role with at least 2 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.

3. Solid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting for investments.

4. A thorough knowledge of US GAAP.

5. Technology savvy with experience selecting and overseeing software installations and managing relationships with software vendors; advanced knowledge of accounting and reporting software.

6. Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting.

7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, board or other outside partners.

8. Ability and desire to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance managers.
