Employee spotlight: Stacy McDonald, sr. application administrator

Stacy McDonald is sr. application administrator and is based in Chicago. Get to know her and learn about her professional journey here at CareerBuilder.

Q: Tell us about your job! What do you do? What does a typical day look like in your role?

A: I have the important role of making sure data flows in and out of various financial systems. This could be as minimal as updating your job title in Concur when you get a promotion -- and as critical as ensuring payment files make it to the bank on time.

Q: How has your career grown since starting at CareerBuilder?

A: I started February 2005 as a contractor on the help desk as a support technician. It wasn’t my ideal job, but the job market was not plentiful, and I needed a foot in the door somewhere as a recent graduate.

I was a part of the very dusty move from our O’Hare office to our current corporate office in downtown Chicago. After nine months on the help desk, I moved onto the CRM team where I administered Pivotal and did various data movement and analysis. This gave me all the tools to migrate our sales and support teams from Pivotal onto Salesforce.

A few years back, an opportunity on the financial systems team became available and in which I could use the skills I learned the prior 15 years but in a different capacity. I can’t wait for the next set of challenges and learnings CB will bring my way!

Q: What is your favorite CareerBuilder memory, and why?

A: All of the recognition opportunities that were awarded to me over the years, the 10-year anniversary party, Hack Day, the Diamond Club trip to Cabo. Beyond that, I enjoy working with all the fantastic talented employees we have; the culture here is unbeatable.

Q: What are your favorite hobbies?

A: Does being a “mom taxi” count? But in all seriousness, I enjoy relaxing by a fire or floating in the pool with a cold beverage.

Q: What was your first job?

A: Bagging groceries
