Akshay Deep Sharma is an associate manager, client support, customer care, and is based in India. Get to know him and discover the sayings that have helped guide his professional journey.
A: I have completed my three-plus years working with CareerBuilder and recently got promoted to associate manager, client support, customer care. My day is a little longer than others as I have teams in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) and U.S. regions, so I need to be available for them. I plan things ahead of time, prioritizing tasks and ensuring they are executed efficiently. I monitor my team’s cross-training program and their progress and take regular feedback from their respective mentors on how they are performing.
We have our day-to-day meetings with leadership and other teams, and I also don’t believe in micro-managing things, so I just let my team know the plans and the goals. I let them have the freedom to make at least some of the decisions as to how to do what is needed because I am totally aware that morale and creativity nosedive when the flow of work is interrupted by a supervisor checking on progress every two minutes. I need to be adaptable and flexible throughout any team project, as things can — and often do — change very quickly.
A: I can say I’ve enjoyed great career progress. I started working as technical support engineer with CareerBuilder three years ago. In this span, I built my work relations with other teams which helps me to speed up the resolution for my clients. CareerBuilder gave stability to my career. I was able to grab an opportunity and was promoted to associate manager, and I must say it’s a great company to grow with. I am certain that the coming years will be productive for me.
Working at CareerBuilder within its positive work environment is rewarding. I can picture myself growing into my position. I feel the values of this organization can be advantageous to my career. In return, I see myself utilizing my knowledge to yield better outcomes. The coming years ahead are a guide to me. They would take me to a target where I can cherish the achievements along the road.
A: Working with people and running a business are two of my favorite things.
A: I worked with cartoonist Pran who is also known as the “Walt Disney of India,” the creator of Chacha Chaudhary.
A: Two quotes are very close to me. One, “Nothing can substitute experience.” And two, “Help others help yourself.”
