Unemployment across demographic groups in June 2020

The coronavirus pandemic has not impacted workers equally, especially when considering a worker’s race. Here are the unemployment rates for June 2020:

• Adult men: 10.2%
• Adult women: 11.2%
• Whites: 10.1%
• Blacks: 15.4%
• Hispanics: 14.5%
• Asians: 13.8%

Education is still a strong buffer when it comes to unemployment – those with bachelor’s degrees and higher remain employed in larger numbers than those without higher education.
