According to CareerBuilder data from April 2022, the number of job postings on CareerBuilder.com continues to grow, but, as in March, the curve continues to flatten signaling greater economic recovery. Further, applicants are indicating a strong preference for remote work.
In April 2022, computer and mathematical occupations have the third highest job volume, growing almost 500% year over year and appear in the top four major groups for the first time in 2022; twenty percent of jobs for this group are related to software engineering positions.
Most Major job groups show strong double- to triple-digit growth in April 2022 as compared to the same period last year. Transportation, Warehousing, Healthcare, and Office continue to drive job posting volume, but we are also starting to see significant demand in the following groups:
In keeping with the post-Pandemic demand for greater work-life balance, work-from-home/remote jobs are six times more likely to attract more applicants, with every major group having increased year-over-year jobs volume growth. The largest growth was scene in Community and Social Services Occupations with 29,937% growth.
CareerBuilder is seeing positive month-over-month profile growth across most states. The top three states with the most growth are Maine, South Dakota, and North Dakota.
