POSITION SCOPEThe Welder is a safety sensitive position that will perform various welding duties on the manufacturing of new equipment and the refurbishing of heavy equipment in a climate-controlled shop under the direction of the Shop Foreman. Welders work Monday through Friday, 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Occasionally, there may be some overnight travel required with this position. PRIMARY DUTIES<ul><li>Basic welding and fabrication duties</li><li>Assist with checking accuracy and quality of all phases of fabrication</li><li>Operate basic shop equipment, including shear, press, iron worker, etc.</li><li>Practice and enforce company's safety policies</li><li>Read and follow blueprints</li><li>Maintain records and paperwork for all jobs</li><li>Work cooperatively with other employees</li><li>Follow directions of the supervisor</li><li>Keep the work area clean and organized</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned</li></ul> REQUIREMENTS<ul><li>Applicants must be at least 18 years old</li><li>Welding skills with both stick and wire welders required</li><li>Must be able to read blueprints</li><li>Experience with machining a plus</li><li>Occasional overnight travel required</li></ul> Fisher Industries is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Summary: Weld, fabricate and repair of various equipment for aggregate setting.  Work within compliance of MSHA and GPI safety standards.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following and are in no particular order. Other duties may be assigned at any time.             Operate a welding machine, acetylene torch and other welding or fabrication equipment.             Use of specific types of welding rods when necessary to make specialized and basic welds.             Reads blueprints, lays out, fabricates and cuts.             Pre and Post Trip Inspection of every piece of equipment he/she operates.             Uses time efficiently. Follow direction and guidance of weld shop supervisor. Must be able to work overtime and a flexible work schedule. Possibly may be required to help set up and tear down the plant at each new job site, including setting blocks, pulling cords, and any other duty as assigned. Possibly may be required to help change screens on plant when required. Physical requirements for this include bending, lifting over 50 pounds, crawling in tight spaces. If operator is a Class A/B holder, must be in DOT compliance at all times and maintain a clean driving record during employment with Gravel Products, Inc. Operators may only use hands free phone while driving or operating any GPI equipment. Follows all safety and security procedures in accordance with OSHA and MSHA regulations. Reports potentially unsafe conditions immediately; Uses equipment and materials properly; Understands and complies with all MSHA and company safety regulations. Other duties as assigned. Interpersonal Skills: Problem solver, listen to others with open mind, get along well with co-workers and supervisors. Maintains professionalism and is a good representative of Gravel Products, Inc when dealing with customers and members of the community. Oral Communication: Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations.
