4 South Clinical Decision Unit cares for general MedSurg patients including COPD, CHF, Diabetes, MRSA, VRE, C-Diff, COVID, Pneumonia, Renal Failure, Sepsis, UTI, and End of Life Comfort; patient ratio 1:5-6; tracheotomy care, suctioning, O2 therapy, ostomy care, Foley care, external catheter care, PEG/NGT care and use, wound care, chest tube, central line care, pressure ulcer management/preventive measures, falls prevention management, restraints. 5 North MedSurg/Oncology cares for all patient types except stroke and MI, including palliative care, ETOH withdrawal, and MS/Oncology patients; patient ratio 1:6 for RN and LPNs; trach care, chest tubes, PEG tubes, wound care, drains, Foleys, IV starts, chemo administration if certified; tele monitoring on hallway monitors and by tele techs on ground floor.
