Duties and Responsibilities •Monitor security camera systems and report suspicious activity, safety concerns, or unusual conditions to Campus Safety staff.•Answer incoming telephone calls and assist with dispatching routine requests for service to Campus Safety personnel.•Receive, document, and relay non-emergency calls and requests for assistance.•Perform routine foot patrols and safety inspections of assigned campus buildings, parking lots, residence halls, and common areas.•Check doors, windows, lighting, emergency phones, and other campus facilities to ensure they are secure and report maintenance or safety concerns.•Assist with routine vehicle and equipment inspections as assigned.•Observe and report suspicious behavior, hazards, or policy violations to professional Campus Safety staff.•Provide directions, information, and general assistance to students, employees, and campus visitors.•Assist with special events by supporting crowd management, parking, event setup, and wayfinding.•Maintain accurate activity logs, inspection checklists, and other departmental records.•Assist with filing, data entry, report organization, and other administrative functions within the Campus Safety Office.•Maintain confidentiality regarding student information, security procedures, and departmental operations.•Operate radios, telephones, computers, and other communication equipment in accordance with departmental procedures.•Successfully complete all required training related to campus safety, emergency procedures, customer service, FERPA, workplace safety, and College policies.•Perform other duties as assigned by Campus Safety staff. Qualifications – Education, Experience, and Skills •Must be currently enrolled as a full-time Hocking College student.•Must meet federal requirements for Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).•Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.•Strong communication and customer service skills.•Ability to remain calm and professional when responding to routine calls and interacting with the public.•Ability to observe surroundings carefully and report concerns accurately.•Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.•Ability to operate telephones, radios, computers, and basic office equipment.•Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.•Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.•Ability to work independently while recognizing situations that require supervisor assistance.•Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.•Ability to walk campus, climb stairs, and stand for extended periods while conducting routine inspections.•Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, or special events as departmental needs require.•Valid driver's license preferred but not required.•Previous customer service, leadership, or campus involvement experience is preferred but not required.•Willingness and ability to complete all required training and professional development assigned by the supervisor, Human Resources, or the College.
