NewSafety Manager Polaris EngineeringSafety ManagerLake Charles, LAFull timeRESPONSIBILITIES:Investigates industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measuresManages job-related injury casesTracks, maintains and reports regulatory safety statisticsReport or reviews findings from accident investigations, facilities inspections, or environmental testingMaintains and applies knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processesInspects facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation complianceConducts or coordinates worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipmentInterviews clients and employees to obtain information about work environments and workplace incidentsReviews plans and specifications for construction of new machinery or equipment to determine if all safety requirements have been metCompiles, analyzes, and interprets statistical data related to occupational illnesses and accidentsRecommends process and product safety features which will reduce employees' exposure to chemical, physical, and biological work hazardsInstalls safety devices on machinery, or direct device installationMaintains liaisons with outside organizations, such as fire departments, mutual aid societies, and rescue teams, to facilitate emergency responsesInstructs employees in the requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Act. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum 10+ years of safety experience in industrial construction, engineering, or heavy industry Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred but not requiredMinimum of 3 years in a safety leadership or management roleCertified First AidHazardous Materials Technician TrainingHazard Communication CertifiedAvailable for short-term travel IV.
