As the shipping manager, you will manage the planning, scheduling, and routing of inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments of freight; manage the fabrication of wood shipping crates to support outbound shipments and storage of critical assemblies; comply with DOT and State shipping documentation laws (CFR 49, IATA, etc); represent company with carriers, negotiate claims, and select carriers to ensure efficient, timely, and cost effective movement of goods and material; ensure Traffic Management compliance for areas designated as Foreign Trade Zone; responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. In this role, you will serve as the manager for ~10 employees to oversee shipping, packing/crating, distribution, and traffic administration missions, working in close coordination with LM Space Transportation, LMS Programs, commercial vendors, civilian and military airports, LM Space's International Trade Compliance Office, and customers.
