In addition to conducting responsibilities, directors at AHS are expected to integrate faith-based principles and moral reasoning into rehearsals where appropriate, serve as an example of Christian character and discipleship to students, support and uphold the spiritual mission of the school through daily interactions with students and colleagues, participate in school-wide devotionals, prayer, and other faith-centered activities, and respond thoughtfully to student questions related to faith, values, and moral decision-making in a manner consistent with the school's mission. Successful candidates must demonstrate strong conducting and rehearsal skills, a broad understanding of orchestral ensemble repertoire, high energy, and effective classroom management skills, as well as a commitment to actively participate in and contribute to a faith-based educational environment aligned with the teachings and values of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
