Possess or be eligible for a Maryland State Department of Education teaching certificate Bachelors degree in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university Knowledge of child development, content expertise, and DCPS curriculum and policies Commitment to the belief that all students can learn characterized by high content and high expectations for all learners Ability to use a variety of instructional and behavioral management strategies appropriate to the needs of students and techniques integrating reading, writing, math, and technology throughout the content areas Ability to self-reflect on instructional practices and personal interactions for continuous improvement Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office, and school-based staff, students, parents, and community demonstrating organizational agility Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills Commitment to children serving as an advocate, a role model, and a supporter of diversity (e.g. Dorchester County Public Schools is currently accepting applications for potential Spanish Teacher openings that may become available for the 2026 - 2027 school year.
