ā¢Provide customer service by greeting and assisting customers, and responding to customer inquiries and complaints.
ā¢Answer customers' questions about merchandise and advise customers on merchandise selection.
ā¢Itemize and total customer merchandise selection at checkout counter, using cash register, and accept cash or charge card for purchases.
ā¢Take inventory or examine merchandise to identify items to be reordered or replenished.
ā¢Pack customer purchases in bags or cartons.
ā¢Stock shelves, racks, cases, bins, and tables with new or transferred merchandise.
ā¢Receive, open, unpack and issue sales floor merchandise.
ā¢Clean display cases, shelves, and aisles.
ā¢Compare merchandise invoices to items actually received to ensure that shipments are correct.
ā¢Requisition merchandise from supplier based on available space, merchandise on hand, customer demand, or advertised specials.
ā¢Transport packages to customers' vehicles.
ā¢Stamp, attach, or change price tags on merchandise, referring to price list.
ā¢Design and set up advertising signs and displays of merchandise on shelves, counters, or tables to attract customers and promote sales.
ā¢Load and unload delivery trucks.
ā¢Stock merchandise in accordance to store sets.
ā¢Maintain store and shelf conditions.
ā¢Clean cases, floors, parking lot, backroom, bathrooms, and loading and unloading areas.
ā¢Rotate all merchandise being stocked.
