OPERATING NEEDS: Ability to manage a staff of 15 or more and workload for multiple Downtown campus locations; obtain and maintain a working understanding of all ITM requirements of all direct reports including but not limited to fire alarm systems, fire and smoke door inspections, vertical fire doors and shutters, emergency lights and exit lights, portable fire extinguishers, emergency power systems, fire pumps, water-based fire protection systems, emergency showers, eyewash and drench hoses, fire hydrants, evacuation drills, and fire protection backflow preventers; obtain and maintain a working understanding of all hardware and software utilized by Fire Safety staff, troubleshoot, correct minor equipment issues; ensure staff are trained and capable of properly utilizing assigned equipment, hardware, and software employed to carry out daily assignments. Provide routine and detailed updates on staff assignments, assigned work orders, and fire and life safety systems ITM progress to direct supervisor (Assistant Director, Code Administration and Fire Safety) or, in their absence the Director of Code Administration & Fire Safety.
