This role works directly with the Safety Team, Risk Management Department, subcontractors, and third-party partners to deliver best-in-class experience from first report through return to work. The Occupational Safety and Care Coordinator work at the intersection of human care and operational excellence - serving as the primary advocate and guide for injured workers while managing the claims process with professionalism and precision. Conduct regular field site visits (travel required at least once per month, plus additional as needed) to perform safety audits, inspections, and observations; identify potential hazards and work directly with store/field management to implement corrective actions and ensure safe working conditions. Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, supervisors, and field teams, including new-hire onboarding, refresher sessions, and topic-specific workshops (e.g., safe chemical handling, ergonomics in repair work). p>5+ years safety and health experience All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations. Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32F degrees) temperatures and exposure to inclement weather such as dust, wind, snow, rain, etc. p>Duties and Responsibilities: • Implement Juneau safety culture initiatives • Assists plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including OSHA and DOT • Works directly with project team to develop and implement jobsite-specific safety program • Coordinate emergency procedures • Provide general safety oversight • Prior to trade partner mobilization, review premobilization documents related to safety • Conduct site safety inspections, coordinating corrections with all trade partners and internal teams • Communicate frequently with the Safety Director to report the status of the jobsite • Track and report safety-related metrics to internal and external team members • Conduct incident investigations to determine causal factors and remedial actions • Develops and delivers safety-related training, including but not limited to new hire orientation, weekly toolbox talks, and general safety awareness training • Carry out other tasks as assigned by supervisor. Position Qualifications: • Bachelors degree in a Safety-related discipline • 3 years of experience managing the safety efforts on a large construction project • 30M or equivalent combination of education and experience • CHST preferred • Current OSHA 500 preferred • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
