Red River Hospital is looking to add a dedicated RN to our Intake team! As an Admissions RN, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient admissions process for our patients. Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:· Review medical documentation for all admissions, complete medication reconciliation, and obtain admission orders from physicians.· Facilitate emergency transfers for patients with medical conditions beyond our facility's capabilities.· Review referrals from hospitals, facilities, and community agencies, assessing medical and behavioral acuity and responding within designated timeframes.· Respond to inquiries about our facility, providing appropriate recommendations and information.· Conduct assessments to determine the appropriate level of care within our facility.· Collaborate with medical and psychiatric personnel to ensure appropriate recommendations and admissions.· Facilitate the admissions process, including assessment, consent, and inventory of patient belongings.· Perform insurance benefit verifications and secure initial pre-authorization for treatment and admission.· Monitor patient status throughout the admissions process, following facility policies and physician orders.· Utilize web-based programs to track and review referrals.· Communicate projected admissions promptly to designated internal representatives.· Ensure timely receipt of all clinical information, including medical comorbidity, from referral sources or patients.· Schedule and complete pre-admission assessments, consult with admitting physicians, and communicate disposition recommendations to patients or their families.· Prepare and maintain accurate medical record documentation to facilitate payor authorization at the requested level of care.· Complete initial pre-authorization for treatment and admission within payor timeframe guidelines.· Admit patients to the registration and accounting system, completing all necessary admission and consent forms.· Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards patients, prioritizing their safety and promptly addressing concerns or complaints.· Coordinate care for patients who are not being admitted, ensuring they receive appropriate follow-up care and referrals.· Conduct safety checks and provide supervision as required by special precautions and individualized guidelines.· Coordinate care for patients who are not being admitted, ensuring they receive appropriate follow-up care and referrals.· Conduct safety checks and ensure proper supervision according to special precautions and individualized guidelines.

JOB DESCRIPTION Summary of Essential Functions <ul><li>Responsible for routine and emergency care on all patients while they are in the Cardiology Department. </li><li>Assist in maintaining professional standards of patient care and in teaching technical aspects of procedures to other staff. </li><li>Performs other duties their individual registry or certification allows as requested by the management. </li></ul> Educational Requirements <ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent required. </li><li>Graduate of an accredited RN program. </li><li>Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. </li></ul> Licenses and Certifications <ul><li>BCLS, Basic Arrhythmia and ACLS which must be taken in the first six months of employment. </li><li>IV Conscious Sedation should be taken in the first month of employment. </li><li>Must be registered with the BNE for the State of Texas. </li></ul> Knowledge/Skills/Abilities <ul><li>Minimum of one year of special procedures or critical care experience. </li><li>Ability to concentrate on moderate detail with some interruption. </li><li>Must be able to relate specific ideas generally, several at a time and remember multiple tasks given at one time or over a period of time. </li></ul> Physical Requirements <ul><li>Moderate amount of lifting and positioning of patients and equipment as well as transportation of patients via cart or wheelchair. </li><li>Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time as well as walking and sitting; see small objects, have good eye-hand coordination and hear normal sounds with background noises. </li><li>Subject to electrical, radiation and biohazards. </li><li>Working under stressful conditions and working irregular hours. </li><li>Exposure to communicable diseases and/or bodily fluids. </li><li>Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds, pushing and pulling of heavy objects. </li></ul> Duties and Responsibilities Pre and Post/Stress Lab <ul><li>Develops, implements, and evaluates as are-appropriate plan of care utilizing the nursing process, clinical skills and patient education. </li><li>Verifies correct patient by patient's armband and medical record number. Reviews the patient's chart to verify the physician's order. </li><li>Performs exercise and chemical stress testing with and without radio nuclides under the direction of a physician. Practices proper radiation safety. </li><li>Produces recordings of ECG variations during stress testing, monitoring blood pressure and patient condition during stress testing. </li><li>Must have thorough knowledge of vessel/anatomies and disease processes. </li><li>Maintains knowledge of medications most commonly used in practice area. Correctly administers medications and able to calculate concentrations. Observes for possibly reaction and able to treat appropriately. Independently take appropriate action for hemostasis. </li><li>Rapidly recognizes arrhythmias and hemodynamic changes. Able to properly identify: leads corresponding to coronary system. Able to perform patient assessments. Able to transcribe data and generate reports accurately. </li><li>Assist patient teaching regarding all cardiology related procedures. Works overtime when needed. Able to assist in all areas. </li><li>Communicates and updates patient during procedure. Assists patient teaching regarding all cardiology related procedures. </li><li>Accurately accounts for procedures and supplies used on each patient and demonstrates cost effectiveness in ordering and/or use of supplies. </li><li>Performs all other tasks/responsibilities as necessary. </li></ul>
