You will work with operators, engineering leaders, subsystem responsible engineers, software engineers, and network engineers inside the Starlink Mobile organization as well as key contacts with various major external partners to help ensure the growth of this program. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for developing the strategy, key metrics, tools, software services, and processes for assessing how well key aspects of Starlink Mobile are scaling and how effective the Mobile Network is itself, in serving millions of users around the globe.

Data Engineer (Starlink Mobile)

Our software engineers are responsible for the tools that enable rapid development and accurate testing of all Starlink hardware systems, with a continual focus on design, reliability, and innovation, from test hardware system designs to our software infrastructure. Aerospace experience is not required to be successful here – engineers on this team are curious, and collaborative, love to learn new things, and work effectively in a dynamic environment to deliver high-impact technology on a massive scale.

Software Engineer, Hardware Test & Automation (Starlink)

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems/IT, or an engineering discipline and 1+ years of professional experience in systems administration, site reliability engineering, or DevOps; OR 3+ years of professional experience in systems administration, site reliability engineering, or DevOps in lieu of a degree. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Site Reliability Engineer (Starlink)

Partner with the photonics test and automation team on characterization: define test plans and pass/fail metrics, design test structures and probe- and fiber-array-compatible layouts, help bring up and validate automated measurements, and use the shared data pipeline to close the loop between simulation, measurement, and design. Implement bias and tuning control in hardware: place heaters and monitor photodiodes, define the drive and readout interface with K2's electronics engineers, and bring up closed-loop modulator bias and resonator locking, verified over temperature and radiation.

Establish an efficient product lifecycle starting in the supply chain all the way through final integration that balances cost, complexity, and quality; work closely with partner teams to design and realize an efficient in-house production line. You will get to oversee a critical system at the heart of the satellite, as you work cross functionally with plasma physics experts, avionics engineers, and electrical engineers to develop propulsion hardware (thrusters, cathodes, regulators and the fluid feed system).

Electric Propulsion Engineer, Mechanical - (Starlink)

2+ years of experience designing and implementing mixed-signal circuit boards from concept through production using processors, FPGAs, Ethernet, multi-GHz Serdes, DRAM interfaces (DDR4), I2C, SPI, operational amplifiers, analog to digital and digital to analog converters, and power supply components. Sub-teams include: Avionics : The backbone of Starlink satellites are the bus avionics systems which control the vehicle, convert and distribute kilowatts of power, route high-speed vehicle and user traffic, and connect satellites to each other via our state-of-the-art Space Lasers!

Sr. Electrical Design Engineer, Electrical - (Starlink)

You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

Thermal Engineer, Satellites (Starlink)

7+ years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining multiple software products/systems/releases, preferably in a SaaS delivery model, across all phases of the development lifecycle, and across multiple software stacks; 4+ years of experience as an engineer in a force-multiplying position (delivery through others); Current hands-on experience as an engineer (3+ years) owning a distributed system that handled tens of billions of requests per day or more than 1 PB of data per day; History of significant and continued impact on customer experience and business results; Demonstrated track record of operational excellence when operating services that span many components across several geographical regions; Experience working with and growing strong engineers within remote teams across geographies and cultures; Ability to communicate and articulate crisply. Ideal candidate for this Senior Engineer has deep expertise in large-scale distributed/control systems (intelligent placement, auto balancing, autoscaling) and the ability to go deep into the underlying data platform (LogScale) - ingestion, storage, and query internals - to connect scaling decisions to real system behavior in a large multi-tenant environment.
