n\n Represent Sarasota County to library users.\n \n\n Participate in and/or facilitate trainings, community meetings, and activities of the Library Advisory Board, Friends, Alliance, Friends of the Library, etc.\n \n\n \nStaff Development\n\n Evaluate staffing needs for the unit and interview and select candidates for hire.\n \n\n Conduct regularly scheduled staff meetings and one-on-one meetings with each employee, monitoring and managing performance, including the administration of corrective action.\n \n\n Provide opportunities for continuing professional development of self and others, especially in acquiring relevant understanding and skills.\n \n\n Participate in cross-training in other sections and aid in cross-training in their section.\n \n\n \nCommunication\n\n Promote the value, mission, products, and services of the library throughout the community, encouraging the understanding and use of library programs, resources, and services.\n \n\n Work with library support groups such as the Friends of the Library, developing and maintaining community partnerships, and networking with other agencies within the County, the community, and the library profession.\n \n\n Prepare and present oral, written, and visual presentations to groups.\n
