Partner with systems engineering, mechanical engineering, firmware/FPGA teams, manufacturing, test, supply chain and program management to deliver on schedule, cost, and performance targets Foster technical innovation (e.g., new product development/product enhancements) Define and manage engineering processes, budgets, resources, schedules and risk mitigation efforts Set and drive metrics for engineering team performance (throughput, quality, reliability/MTBF, cost) Hire, develop, motivate and retain high-performance engineering talent; conduct performance reviews, set individual development plans Promote a culture of continuous improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and technical excellence Provide technical leadership, coach engineers in their career development, and serve as escalation point for complex technical issues Represent the electronics engineering discipline in senior leadership forums, provide regular updates on portfolio, resource needs and risks. Masters degree in EE, CE or related field Experience in aerospace/defense market electronics Familiarity with high-density/quadrax contact technology, fiber optic conversion, rugged media converters or rugged Ethernet switch products Experience with reliability predictions (MTBF), board-level ruggedization, and test protocols for extreme environments.
