Responsibilities include taking corrective action to reduce or eliminate downtime in the distribution center; providing support to other maintenance partners; providing immediate response to any problem in the conveyor systems, machinery and all other building functions; examining parts and removing defective parts by dismantling devices using hand and power tools, hoists and cranes while observing and monitoring safe operation of machinery, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems equipment and components; selecting, using and increasing existing knowledge regarding the proper use of common tools including hand and power tools; performing preventative maintenance; contacting outside vendors as necessary; ordering parts; performing daily and weekly safety checks; and providing technical guidance when required on developing, monitoring, interpreting and understanding policies and procedures, while making sure they match organizational strategies and objectives.
