In this role, inpatient clinical responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: the assessment and evaluation of patients, new patient transplant and immunology consults, development of care plans, management of prescriptions, management and ordering of chemotherapy and infusions, coordination of home care needs, patient and family education, communication with consulting services, coordination of patient follow-up, completion of procedures (to include lumbar punctures, bone marrow aspirates and biopsies, skin biopsies, and bone marrow harvests), and integration with the multi-disciplinary team to meet patient care needs as appropriate. As the premier pediatric hospital covering this large catchment area, we care for patients requiring bone marrow transplant for both malignant and non?malignant conditions, cellular therapy, gene therapy, as well as patients with underlying immunodeficiencies or bone marrow failure syndromes.
