The County Medical Examiner is required by law to investigate all deaths involving a homicide, suspected homicide, suicide, a violent, unnatural, or suspicious death, an unexpected apparent natural death in an adult, sudden unexpected infant and child deaths, deaths believed to represent a threat to public health or safety, and executed prisoners. This is a non-tenure track faculty position at the assistant professor level in the Department of Pathology at East Tennessee State University's Quillen College of Medicine, with a direct report to the Chair of Pathology.
