Assist the patient with changing/dressing • Transports the patient by stretcher, bed, or wheelchair (this is a large part of the job) • Identifies abnormal findings that could adversely affect surgical and patient outcomes, including abnormal vital signs, Accucheck results, lab, EKG, and CXR results • Report all abnormal findings to the appropriate nursing staff • Escorts patients to holding rooms • Assists with patient changing, and removal of belongings such as jewelry, dentures, contact lenses, etc. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Provides basic clinical skills required to safely perform routine delegated patient care activities, record and report pertinent clinical data, knowledge and use of specialized patient care equipment.
