Manages Visitor Center and staff, including part-time staff and volunteers; Solicits convention, meeting, and sporting event business through direct outreach, including presentations, personal calls, telemarketing, trade show contacts, and bid book preparation, targeting assigned markets to generate leads;Participates in or coordinates familiarization (FAM) tours for meeting planners, event organizers, and travel professionals to showcase Brenham and Washington County DMO's venues, attractions, and hospitality infrastructure;Manages the full lifecycle of DMO group travel, conventions, meetings, and events, from initial client inquiries to post-event follow-up, ensuring high-quality service delivery and client satisfaction;Tracks and analyzes sales activities, leads, and bookings using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems to identify trends and opportunities, providing data and insights for reports on hotel room nights, visitor spending, economic impact, and performance evaluations for the DMO, including updates to iDSS CRM program, VisitBrenhamTexas.com;Responsible for quarterly hotelier and lodging partner meetings to update these partners on Visit Brenham DMO activities and projects;Maintains active memberships in industry organizations, representing the DMO at monthly networking events, association meetings, and community engagements to build relationships and attract business;Develop a Request for Proposal (RFP) system to provide lodging partners with the ability to respond to opportunities for tourism, conferences, weddings, and other small meetings or conventions; Assists with Music Friendly, Tourism Friendly, and Film Friendly Texas Programs and events;Attends supplier/buyer trade shows and industry events to promote the destination and generate new sales leads, representing the DMO professionally;Participates in industry training, webinars, or workshops to stay current with tourism sales trends and best practices, enhancing sales effectiveness;Work non-traditional hours for presence at various Brenham and Washington County events; Assists with organization of Visit Brenham events and special programming as needed;Assists in the preparation of the annual budget as assigned, and monitor line items to accomplish monetary goals for Visit Brenham;Assists with development of presentation materials, reports, and key performance indicators for meetings; andPerforms additional duties as assigned by the Director of Tourism to accomplish the goals and objectives of the VBDMO.Education and/or ExperienceBachelor's degree in business, tourism, hospitality, or marketing, plus one year of tourism related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Skill/Ability ToExcellent written and communication skills; skilled in various computer software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher); industry related CRM systems; self-disciplined and capable of working with little supervision in a fast paced environment; ability to manage multiple projects; ability to research, compile and summarize a variety of information and statistical data; skilled in effective time management and resource utilization; and ability to make oral presentations before the public.
