Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: operating and maintaining buildings, grounds, and other facilities such as posts, bases, shipyards, depots, medical or health care facilities, power plants, navigation locks, parks, forests, and roadways; coordinating and directing work performed by a variety of trades and labor employees and requires broad knowledge of such work; overseeing strategic space planning and analysis; operating facility programs and services efficiently by assuring compliance with all certification, safety, fire prevention, and security program requirements; and knowledge of assessment tools for identifying current status, actual and potential problem areas, identifying and interpreting trends and significant factors, as well as knowledge of social, economic, and other conditions affecting performance of health care delivery systems, including population, demographics (Veterans and community), economics and budget. Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5):Must have specialized experience that demonstrates the following: managing a maintenance program for office or apartment building complexes, hospitals, recreation facilities, military, or other special-purpose installations, including planning maintenance activities, and developing preventive maintenance programs; conducting surveillance activities over construction and maintenance operations performed by a variety of private contractors, including reviewing project plans and specifications for workability, informing contractors of construction and reporting requirements, and supervising operations for conformance with project plans.
