As a Cardiovascular Step Down Unit (CVU) Registered Nurse (RN), your voice to influence patient care is valued and empowered at every turn –whether through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager or more formal opportunities through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. In collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family, and other members of the health care team, the Cardiovascular Step Down Unit (CVU)/ICU Step Down Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, evaluating, planning, implementing, and coordinating a treatment plan and achieving the goals of the CVU Nursing Department.
