Typical duties for this role will include but are not limited to: providing day-to-day leadership for the team responsible for implementing the Expanded Access to Arts and Culture Grant Program; preparing written reports, memos and presentations for the Commission and the Fresno City Council; tracking progress toward achieving the goals outlined in the Cultural Arts Plan; facilitating a transparent grant application, grant review and grant making process; ensuring fiduciary oversight of grant funding through adherence to all generally accepted accounting principles, administrative orders and laws; providing training and technical assistance to grantees; communicating with stakeholders; and ensuring compliance with all aspects of Measure P and the Expanded Access to Arts and Culture Grant Program. The ideal Program Administrator will demonstrate knowledge and experience in several of the following areas: arts, cultural arts, cultural studies, grant administration and management, program implementation, nonprofit operations, principles of financial management, transparency and ethics in the public sector, customer service, community engagement, project management, public administration, communication, public speaking, evaluation, budgeting, planning, training, and collaborating with a wide diversity of community groups to expand access to resources.
