p>SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
• Changing light bulbs; • Adjustment and repair to doors, locks and windows; • Repairing and replacement of shelves and cabinets; • Assembling and repairing office desks, chairs, computer stations and typewriter stands; • Repairing ceramic tile, carpet, drywall and door frame; • Completing repair and maintenance of plumbing and minor electrical and HVAC equipment such as changing filters, belts and greasing; • Completing custodial duties involving the cleaning of classrooms, carpets, floors and lavatories; • Setting up chairs, tables, public announcing systems and audio-visual equipment for all classes and special events; • Keeping all classrooms clean and ready for use by students; • Informing the provost of any situation that might require immediate attention regarding safety; • Offering suggestions for improvement of campus maintenance; • Completing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include:
• Demonstrated experience and/or training in the trade skills of carpentry, concrete, plumbing, electrical, and painting; • Knowledge of the proper and safe use of power tools and equipment used in various trades; • Knowledge and experience in custodial duties such as floor and carpet care including machinery used; • Knowledge and understanding of biomedical waste and supplies and the proper storage and disposal; • Knowledge of safety hazards of buildings and grounds which include maintaining hazardous chemical lists; • Knowledge and experience in inspections, warranties and service contracts; • Planning and managing projects; • Be computer literate; • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions; • Ability to work well with co-workers and other irsc faculty and staff members; • Ability to work with minimal supervision; • Valid Florida driver's license.
