Minimum Qualifications Non-Competitive: One year of service as Public Safety Program Specialist 1 or seven (7) years of qualifying experience* either: as a law enforcement officer, law enforcement trainer, or public safety program administrator in a local, state, or federal agency; OR. in the research, development, and implementation of training programs specific to one or more of the following areas: Law Enforcement, Fire Service, Domestic Preparedness, Emergency/Disaster Management, Emergency Medical Service, Safety, Health and Environmental Management or a closely related discipline as indicated on the position posting. Duties Description Under the direction of a higher-level Public Safety Program Specialist within the DCJS Office of Public Safety Law Enforcement Training Unit, the Public Safety Program Specialist 2, SG-23 will research, develop, and implement training programs or specialized programs and model policy best practices for police and peace officers that support program topics found within in-service training.
