Within 60 days from graduation of the MA program, certification as one of the following is required: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from the American Medical Technologists (AMT), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from the National Healthcare Association (NHA), or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). The Medical Assistant - Apprentice works under the direction of a Medical Assistant mentor for on- the-job training to provide basic clinical, clerical, and technical support to assist providers in planning for patients care, comfort, and safety.
