Qualifications: High school diploma or GED Completion of one of the following: Graduation from a CAAHEPā or ABHESāaccredited Medical Assisting program (minimum 720 hours, including 160āhour clinical externship), OR Completion of a stateāapproved Medical Assistant apprenticeship, OR Completion of at least 720 hours of Medical Assistant college education, OR Equivalent military training related to medical assisting, OR Currently certified Medical Assistant or eligible to sit for certification National Medical Assistant certification required within 90 days of hire through one of the following: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) American Medical Technologists (AMT) National Healthcareer Association (NHA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) CPR certification is required within 90 days of hire Spanish-speaking skills are required at a level 10 Medical knowledge for understanding theories, reasons, and technical aspects of medicine Strong people skills to handle diverse personalities, backgrounds, and situations Excellent multitasking ability to manage varied workloads Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Epic, and EMR. What You'll Do: Maintain accurate and upātoādate patient records, including medical histories, vital signs, treatments, medications, immunizations, and lab documentation in the EMR Prepare for patient visits by reviewing charts, ensuring required reports and referrals are present, coordinating updates with the Provider team, and supporting daily preāvisit planning Prepare exam rooms and patients for visits, ensuring equipment and supplies are ready and sanitized, explaining procedures, and responding to patient questions within scope Assist Providers during exams, procedures, treatments, and minor surgeries while anticipating needs and supporting efficient, teamābased care Collect and process laboratory specimens, complete screenings, follow up on test results as directed, and administer medications as ordered by a physician Perform other duties as assigned.
